Essential Iceland – 4 nights

Blue Lagoon - Golden Circle - South Shore Adventure
The ideal Icelandic break for every type of traveller.
Day 1: Arrival transfer from airport to Reykjavik city via Blue Lagoon.
What better way to start your Icelandic adventure than bathing in the famous Blue Lagoon to soothe and refresh body and soul after your flight.
Enjoy relaxing in the cosy and warm waters of the Blue Lagoon and in addition to bathing in the lagoon, guests have access to a sauna with a view of the lagoon, a steam-bath with white walls that resemble silica-mud and a cosy steam-bath carved into a lava cave. Guests can also stand beneath a small waterfall for an energizing massage. Of course, guests bathing in the milky waters of the Blue Lagoon have easy access to the famous white silica-mud, an essential part of the spa experience. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Thingvellir National Park, a remarkable historical and geological site, which is located by Lake Thingvallavatn, the largest lake in Iceland. The beautiful canyon running through the park is actually the meeting point of two of the earth’s tectonic plates. Furthermore, in this area the oldest form of parliament had met since 930.
Gullfoss waterfall (the Golden Waterfall) where you will see thousands of tons of icy water thunder majestically down in double falls into a deep canyon.
Geysir geothermal area where bubbling hot springs and geysers are abundant. Here you’ll find also Strokkur, the most active geyser in the area, spouting up to 25-30 meters. Overnight in Reykjavik.
Day 3: South Shore Adventure (10 hours)
Visit the amazing South Shore of Iceland crossing fertile farmlands with striking views over waterfalls, glaciers and beautiful nature. The South Shore Adventure tour will bring you through farmlands and small villages of South Iceland.
You will have frequent views of mountains, including snow shrouded Hekla, the country’s most active volcano and the towering, ice capped strato volcano Eyjafjallajokull. At Seljalandsfoss waterfall, you will have the opportunity to walk behind its plummeting waters and at Skogarfoss waterfall you can walk up a panoramic path to gaze at the formations. Later, you will visit Viki Myrdal, a small charming village surrounded by beautiful high bird cliffs, then head back to Reykjavik. Overnight in Reykjavik.

The day is open to your inspiration to explore the northernmost capital city in the world. It is also affectionately called the Biggest Little City in the World. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 3: Black & Blue: Caving and Snorkelling (7 hours)
We head to Thingvellir National Park, where we explore the hidden marvels of a lava cave.
The Gjabakkahellir cave is a perfect example of an Icelandic lava tube and is situated in one of the most active volcano areas in the world. After the underground exploration, enjoy a packed lunch before heading to lake Thingvallavatn. Snorkeling in the Silfra fissure is the second activity and incredible adventure of the day.
Silfra is one of Iceland’s best-kept secrets, a submerged crack between two continental plates that drift apart 2 cm per year. It’s an otherworldly underwater scenary in countless shades of blue. The crystal clear water in the deep fissure gives you a feeling of being weightless as you float down with the lazy current. Overnight in Reykjavik.
No previous experience required. Anyone over 14 years old or 150 cm height (4′ 11”). Bring with you: A towel, woolen socks, good outdoor shoes, warm outdoor clothing, waterproof jacket and pants. All other equipment is included.
Day 4: Horse Back Riding – Lava Tour (5 hours)
This tour offers an adventurous ride through the lava fields around Mt. Helgafell or Lake Hvaleyrarvatn.
The Icelandic Horse is unique to the country of Iceland, bred since the settlement in isolation from the outside world. Enjoy its smooth riding qualities, namely the tolt gait. Ride through rough lava fields and look at different rock formations, maybe you will be able to spot a troll or two. The beautiful Blafjoll mountains tower above on the horizon.
No previous riding experience required. Included: Riding helmets, rubber boots and rainwear during the ride. 1.5 – 2 hours of riding.
Return to Reykjavik in the late afternoon. Rest of day is open to your inspiration to explore the northernmost capital city in the world. It is also affectionately called the Biggest Little City in the World. Overnight in Reykjavik.

Day 3: Kulusuk, Greenland (8 hours)
Board a short flight (approx. 2 hours) from Reykjavik to Kulusuk to visit the beautiful Greenland’s East Coast, home of the Ammassalik Inuit.
In Kulusuk, you will find some of the east coast’s most skillful craftsmen, whose tupilaks are of exceptional quality. Traditional hunting and fishing are still essential sources of income for many families in the settlement. Upon arrival, the guide will escort us to the engaging village, a mere 40-60 minutes walk, where we can stroll about and meet some of the 360 local residents and view their quality crafts.
Weather permitting: you’ll be treated to kayaking demonstrations and an ancient drum dance reflective of the indigenous culture. Overnight in Reykjavik.
4 hours stay in Kulusuk. Flying times are 2 hours each way
Day 4: Whale Watching (4 hours)
Take part in an adventure at sea with an unforgettable trip into the world of whales and sea birds. The various types of whales commonly sighted include minke whales, white-beaked dolphins, harbor porpoises, and the popular humpback whales.
Included in the tour, complimentary access to the Whale Watching Center with its showroom about marine life. Life-size whale models and skeletons are on display in the Centre, as well as various videos, including video footage from recent whale watching tours. We recommend to dress warmly and to take a pair of sunglasses with you (in summer time).
