Weather

Poland’s climate is very pleasant from May until October with temperatures averaging a balmy 18°C, rising to the high 20s or low 30s at the height of the summer, though it’s rare for the country to become extremely hot and the heat is often tempered with bursts of rainfall.

The weather tends to be very unpredictable in spring, with temperatures varying from zero to 16 degrees, stark contrasts often occurring in one day. March and April tend to be windy and wet.

The autumn (October/November) is often pleasant, though, with temperatures dropping slightly after the summer but still generally warm.

During the winter months (November to February), the temperature drops fairly dramatically, often hitting sub-zero lows, accompanied by fog, wind and snow, especially in the mountainous regions, where conditions are well-suited to skiers.
